Travel Plans

Our core area of business is in the research, development and implementation of travel plans for a variety of organisations. The team brings together a wide range of experience in the travel plan field covering all stages of the travel plan process.

A Travel Plan is a package of measures and initiatives with the aim of reducing the number of car journeys made by people travelling to and from a site by providing them with greater choice.

We regularly work with organisations to develop new travel plans from scratch; we also review and update existing travel plans that require a new direction. Our experience within the field means that we are able to draw on best practice form a variety of projects when developing or redeveloping a travel plan.

Our in house research team provides a detailed understanding of the current commuting patterns and travel options available at a given site through research tasks such as travel surveys and GIS mapping. This information is then used in developing a site specific travel plan which reflects the nature of the organisation and the location.

Our travel plans contain a series of initiatives aimed at promoting alternatives to driving alone.

The team at Rare Spark are committed to developing travel plans which can be implemented and measured over time in order to meet defined targets. Each travel plan is developed in line with the Local Authority guidance as well as both regional and national advice.
